About the Name: The WAY Between

According to architectural terminology, transition space is considered an in-between, connecting space between two confined spaces. An essential element of any structure.  One of the most important functions of transition space being sustainability of the building design. Whether a long hallway or a magnificent entrance, these liminal spaces play important functional roles inviting others to linger and anticipate before entering into a new, often grander space. Temples and places of worship have historically been designed with this architectural transition space concept in mind. One who enters a holy space, having gone before through a transition space to get there, has been given the gift of preparation. There is an invitation to  intentionally prepare one’s head and heart for the encounter with a Holy one.

Similarly the transition spaces of life invite a pause of preparation in body, soul and spirit. The aim of The Way Between is to utilize the transition spaces of life to create and solidify calling. We do this through engagement with the whole self by applying art and movement to life planning tools. When we do this, together we discover freedom and THE WAY between.

JEFF SIMONS

Partner

Jeff is a missiologist at core. He works out this passion as a trained leadership coach, and a cross-cultural companion to global leaders in major transition to, within, and from the field.

His unique wiring plays out as a Resourcing Developer—of people, tools for global workers, and literature; Imaginative Innovator—of forward-thinking missiological structures and ministry strategy; and as a Restorative Artist—by empowering the journeys of workers forward through redemptive new expression, and in literal ways as an artist.

He “hammers” out his passion through the artistic spiritual disciplines of up-cycled wood working, clay sculpture, and literary wordsmithing. He’s a contemplative, ascetic, naturalist, egalitarian and postmodern strategist for Kingdom influence.

Jeff holds a BA in Psychology and Christian Education, an MA in Intercultural Studies (Leadership and Contextualization), and is a professionally trained coach. He has served over 20 years in full-time non-profit organizations, and in a cross-cultural setting (Spain, Bolivia, S. Korea, and other Asian contexts) for over 10 years.

When the forces synergize!

In partnering together we see global workers:

  • Released to more effective life-giving fit in their unique wiring for maximum impact!

  • Find freedom to live out joy-filled and sustainable life-long focus in their calling, for self and family!
